Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she debuted Pho, her first EP under the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she first gained the attention of her peers. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 when she dropped her first mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the internet, including her self release single Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21, 2015. Later that year her music was circulating throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. The announcement that she would be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. In the record Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut album on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed as part of The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening artist. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. And Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it came out on the 5th. On November 9 the singer released two new singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 13, she dropped two singles titled No One and Pedigree. They then teamed up as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single in February, 2019 for her debut album the same name. It was released with a music video in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in one week. As a support act, she toured together with 6LACK in December of 2018 for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
